T&K PRODUCTIONS LLC is the Organizer of this event. Final decisions on all matters pertaining to these competitions rest solely with the Organizer.


The Organizer will determine the date and time for each competition and the location for the Competitors’ Meeting, and will announce this information prior to the event. The Organizer reserves the right to cancel a division if the number of entries is below the minimum of five (5) couples and to rearrange the schedule if necessary. Cancellation of a division would result in the refund of any applicable competitor entry fees.

Any schedule or location changes will be noted on the International Swing Dance Championships’ website (www.THEISDC.com) if they occur prior to the event. If the changes occur during the event, they will be announced or posted in the foyer and the exact location will be announced at the Competitors’ Meeting.

Organizer will determine and award all prizes and money. Monetary awards will be given in the form of a CASH at the Awards Ceremony.


The results of the competitions will be posted for review after the Awards Ceremony.


At any time prior to the Competition, the Organizer reserves the right to determine whether or not a division will consist of a Preliminary, Semi-Final and a Final, and whether or not rounds are danced in heats or as spotlight. This decision will be communicated as soon as possible, on the website or through announcements at the event.


  •  A discounted entry for 17 years of age and under only. (Verified upon check-in)

  • The Competitor must meet the age requirement specified in these rules on or before Friday, May 21st, 2020. Competitors must be at least 14-years old to compete in Jack &Jill’s, Strictlys, and Team. Juniors Routine and Juniors Pro-Am competitors must be 17 or under (or 18 if still in High School). Proof of age is required.

  • Juniors are invited to attend special junior classes held during main day competition times

  • Youth under the age of 14 are not allowed in the main ballroom after 9pm. This rule will be enforced. Parents please make arrangements for your children.

  • Youth 14-17 are not allowed in the main ballroom after 11:30pm. This rule will be enforced. Parents please make arrangements for your children.


INDIVIDUALS – You may select only one level of Jack & Jill to compete in. You many choose to Lead OR Follow.

COUPLE – Couples may only compete with the same person in a maximum of TWO (2) partnered divisions. A couple consists of one male Leader and one female follower.

Gender Exceptions:
STRICTLY COUPLE – A couple consists of one leader and one follower (regardless of gender).
PRO-AM COUPLE – A couple consists of one leader and one follower (regardless of gender).


  1. Hold a full weekend package ticket to the 2020 INTERNATIONAL SWING DANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

  2. Pay the required entry fees.

  3. Sign the waiver. No competitor will be allowed to compete without a signed waiver. Competitors under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian sign their waiver and any other required forms

  4. Register by the official entry deadline

  5. Meet all the specific requirements outlined in these rules.



  • All Competitors must demonstrate courteous and professional behavior at all times at the INTERNATIONAL SWING DANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS, both on and off the competition floor.

  • Exhibit good sportsmanship at all times.

  • Do not use offensive or vulgar gestures, costumes or song lyrics.

  • Failure to adhere to these standards could cause disciplinary action by the Organizer, or penalties from the Judges.


All Competitors are responsible for reading and understanding the rules prior to the 2020 INTERNATIONAL SWING DANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS. Competitors are responsible for adhering to these rules whether or not they have been read.


Unless prior arrangements are made with the event organizers, competitors (at least one partner for couple routines) are required to attend the Competitors’ Meeting on the day of their competition unless otherwise noted.

DANCE ORDER – Drawing for dance order will take place at the competitors meetings.
DEADLINES – Failure to comply with deadlines and attendance at mandatory meetings may result in disqualification from competing in the event without a refund of entry fee. These decisions will be made solely at the discretion of the organizer.


After the cut off date, April 1st, 2020, competition fees will not be refunded for any reason.


The Relative Placement System will be used to judge all the competitions at the INTERNATIONAL SWING DANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS. Judges decisions are final.


The Competitor must meet the age requirement specified in these rules on or before, May 21st, 2020. Competitors must be at least 14 years old to compete.


It is the position of the INTERNATIONAL SWING DANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS that colorful, decorative, dramatic attire enhance the entertainment value of the performances. Tasteful dance clothing is accepted and, encouraged.

  1. Performance attire is required for all routine divisions, including: Showcase & Classic

  2. Please “Dress to Impress – Perform to Win”. Clothing and costumes should be in good taste, suitable for dancing, and flattering in all divisions.

  3. Jeans are not allowed in any Routine Division or Finals Competition.

  4. Sloppiness or revealing outfits are not appropriate and as a distraction may cause a loss of placement with the judges.

  5. If a competitor’s attire is deemed inappropriate, a penalty or a violation may be applied.


You will be able to have input into the song choices for competitions! That’s right!!! We are asking for competitors to submit their top 20 choices for songs to be played in their particular competition (non-choreography divisions). The top responses will be put into a pool of choices for our DJs. For the Finals of the Jack & Jill’s not only will you pull for your partner, you will also pull your song as well. A one-track CD copy of your music must be submitted at the competitors meeting for your day of competition.


There are no refunds for Weekend Passes or Day Passes. No exceptions. Passes purchased online cannot be transferred to other dancers. However, you can request that your on-line Weekend Pass (ONLY,) be credited to the following year’s International Swing Dance Championships. The transferred pass can only be used by the same registrant and is only good for one year. Day Passes of any kind cannot be transferred. Requests for transfer of on-line Weekend Passes to the following year must be received by the date of on-line registration close (the Monday before the event opens); requests received after that date will not be accepted.

Contest fees can be refunded to any competitor who requests a withdrawal from a contest before April 1st, 2020. No refunds or transfers will be made for contest cancellations after that date.
